It all started in the early morning hours on Mac Briggs’
deck at South Seas Plantation. Buoyed with single malt scotch, cigars, and night vision, the three eagle eyed explorers, Bob Newell, Mac Briggs and Bob Zider, looked across Redfish Pass, and their minds wandered: What is there? Have you been there? Why is is so dark? What is life? Anyone have a boat? Fortunately, we waited until morning to act on our observations, and Mac had a new, unused 10ft Zodiac in his locker with an 8 hp mother. Boys went to work and off we were. Three men in a tub. Then we saw it: a rusted, bullet-holed for sale sign, by Geraci International Realty. Wading through 6 inches of standing water, we approached the boarded house. We had to have it. |
